Our dedicated project controllers provide a grounded perspective on the available resources with real-time progress. We work closely with all key members, including finance teams, vendors, construction managers, and technical or procurement representatives, to get a rounded view of your objectives.
This process includes identifying, assessing and prioritising all risks to minimise their probability of occurring, and maximising the realisation of opportunities. Of course, we must accept some residual risks due to financial or practical limitations, yet it is still imperative to isolate and define them so we can efficiently manage them.
Risk Management
Axiom’s philosophy for risk and opportunity management is to address potential issues before they occur. When a risk manifests itself (100% probability of occurring), it ceases to be a risk and becomes an ‘issue’. An issue is an event that will happen on the project. This proactive management of risk will protect the contingency and result in a reduction of CAPEX.
Axiom’s project management team will effectively manage the standard and commercial risks at a micro and macro level throughout the entire duration of the project. All identified risks will be collated, tracked and actioned within a succinct project risk register using ‘active risk manager’ software.
Approach to Project Controls
Our approach to project controls is deliberate, collaborative and backed by years of degree-qualified engineering experience. We use proven processes and tools that enable lean and effective implementation, focusing on analysis and problem-solving rather than data processing. For each project, we will:
- Establish and control a robust plan as a baseline.
- Report project status in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure the planned scope, schedule and budget are owned by those managing the work.
- Enable early identification of deviations from the plan.
- Actively manage change to optimise project outcomes.
- Identify and control potential risks before they occur.
Approach to Planning and Scheduling
As part of preparing a robust plan for the execution of the project, Axiom develops a project master schedule as the primary tool to manage the delivery of the project promptly. From this schedule we will derive:
- Key milestones for project reporting.
- Planned progress and cash flow curves.
- Milestones for construction contracts.
- Workforce requirements.
