How did you end up in this career?
I started my university studies in mechatronic engineering but struggled to see a career path, leading me to transfer to Civil Engineering. I felt more affinity for this discipline. I also discovered that I preferred working on construction projects rather than in engineering design whilst working for Leighton Contractors on a road project during my studies.
Graduating in the aftermath of the GFC meant that there were limited opportunities for graduate roles in civil construction. Still, I was fortunate that Axiom was looking to hire for its inaugural graduate intake. After undergoing several months of training with the Axiom team at the head office, I was assigned my first project in Mt Isa.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work on several major projects in Australia, PNG and Mongolia, gaining experience in estimating, cost control and planning/scheduling.

Why Choose Axiom?
There is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the company. Working at Axiom has allowed me to learn from some great teachers whilst advancing in the business from a graduate to a partner.

What would your advice be for those starting out?
